Well, this kid makes my day so bright. He is as positive as he can be, and he tried super hard!! So usually when we have our tutoring days, he'll talk to me and tell me what's new in his life: his dad's new job, how school is going. That sort of stuff. Today's update wasn't so happy. He told me that he is being bullied.
WAIT...WHAT?!?
Yeah! He's being bullied by another kid....IN HIS CLASS. That, however, is not the thing that bothers me the most. I'm not saying that it is ever okay to bully someone. I'm am 100% anti-bullying. The thing that bothers me the most is that the little boy that is the "bully" claims to be a Christian. He goes to the Bible study every week at school, and whatnot. Sure! I know there is no perfect human being on planet earth! We all sin an fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). I don't know, maybe this kid has some stuff going on behind closed doors, but that is no excuse to talk his anger and frustration out on someone who did nothing to him. I'll never be able to understand the mind of a bully, and I'm thankful for that. I've been on the other side of the coin: Not fitting in; feeling like every person you walk by is judging you. Hearing what the other kids say behind your back. It. Sucks. There is nothing fun about it.
I don't actually know where I was going with this, but I just needed somewhere to vent. So instead of continuing my repetitive rant, I'm going to leave you with this:
If you see someone being bullied, stand up for them!! You may not know them, but does that mean they don't deserve to have someone on their side? Forget being scared of what people are going to say about you or how they are going to treat you. Everyone needs a friend! You could be saving that person's life. Let them know you care.
